March is Youth Art Month nationally and statewide in Delaware!
Please encourage your students to participate in Youth Art Month by creating a design for the flag to represent Delaware at the annual Youth Art Month Ceremony in Washington, D.C. in early March and also at the annual NAEA Convention. This is an annual national flag event has been held for over ten years now. Our flag will be cut and sewn by Heller Flag Company in Indiana. The completed flag will be returned to the school of the flag designer. Students in all grade levels are invited and encouraged to participate in this annual event.
Flag designs should be completed on the flag design sheet (or a copy of the sheet). Schools may submit up to ten entries. It is recommended that the design clearly represent Delaware. Since the flag will be sewn, students should use solid areas of color. Graduated values will not reproduce well in this format. Since the flag will be viewed from a distance, bold designs with a minimum of detail work best.
